Recap: Mother Seton Setters vs. Dunellen Destroyers
After a string of six wins, the Mother Seton Setters's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 36-10 walloping at the hands of Dunellen. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mother Seton has scored all season.
Dunellen's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Fabiana Ames Castillo led the charge by scoring nine points. Another player making a difference was Sophie Jimenez, who scored ten points.
Mother Seton's loss was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 6-2. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.7 points per game. As for Dunellen, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Mother Seton will head out on the road to face off against South Amboy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. South Amboy has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15. As for Dunellen, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against East Brunswick Vo-Tech at 5:30 p.m. East Brunswick Vo-Tech comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 13 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
