Basketball Game Preview: Colchester Lakers vs. South Burlington Wolves

Colchester is 0-10 against South Burlington since December of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Colchester Lakers will take on the South Burlington Wolves at 7:00 p.m.

Colchester is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 77-48 loss at the hands of Rice Memorial. While losing is never fun, the Lakers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Vermont basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Green Knights are ranked third).

Meanwhile, South Burlington hadn't done well against Champlain Valley Union recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. South Burlington walked away with a 49-42 victory over Champlain Valley Union. The win was nothing new for the Wolves as they're now sitting on four straight.

South Burlington's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Colchester, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.

Colchester was taken down by South Burlington 71-34 when the teams last played back in January. Can Colchester avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
