Volleyball Recap: Lemon Bay's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

After flying high against Babcock on Tuesday, Lemon Bay came back down to earth. The Manta Rays fell just short of the Parrish Community Bulls by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Manta Rays' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Lemon Bay actually scored more points across those five sets (111-109), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-27, 26-24, 25-22, 18-25, 15-13.

Roxy Getter paced Lemon Bay's offense, picking up 15 kills. Getter got some help from Evelyn Swidrak and her 39 assists. Swidrak also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kylie Jones, each putting up three.

Lemon Bay's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Parrish Community, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.

Looking ahead, Lemon Bay will be playing in front of their home fans against Booker at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Parrish Community, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Port Charlotte on the 27th.
