Basketball Game Preview: Wickenburg Christian Academy Lion vs. American Heritage Academy

The Wickenburg Christian Academy Lion will challenge American Heritage Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wickenburg Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.2 points per game this season.

Last Thursday, Wickenburg Christian Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Our Lady of the Sun Academy, but they still walked away with a 61-56 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lion.

Wickenburg Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Justen Smith, who posted eight points and eight boards. That's the most rebounds Smith has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Dickinson, who put up ten points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Wickenburg Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Our Lady of the Sun Academy only pulled down eight offensive boards.

Meanwhile, American Heritage Academy had to suffer through an 84-51 loss at the hands of Thunderbird Adventist Academy.

Wickenburg Christian Academy's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.6 points over those games. As for American Heritage Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

Everything came up roses for Wickenburg Christian Academy against American Heritage Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as the team secured an 81-31 victory. In that match, Wickenburg Christian Academy amassed a halftime lead of 46-21, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
