Preview: Lake City Panthers vs. Darlington Falcons
The Lake City Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Darlington Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake City has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29.
Lake City pushed their score all the way to 66 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 82-66 fall against Camden. Lake City was down 70-50 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Lake City might have lost, but man, Blayne Edwards was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds. Edwards is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 11 or more in the last four games he's played. Amari Hanna was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Darlington came up short against the Knights on Monday and fell 52-44.
Lake City's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Darlington, their defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-4.
Lake City was dealt a bruising 73-42 defeat at the hands of the Falcons when the teams last played two weeks ago. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lake City was down 31-7.
