Monticello scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 64-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Olathe Pirates. The Buckaroo have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Monticello still got an impressive performance from Cache Young, who posted 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Kord Young was another key player, putting up 12 points and eight boards.

Isaiah Gordon had a dynamite game For Olathe., almost dropping a double-double with 30 points and nine rebounds. The game was Gordon's 19th in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Gordon, who went 8-for-19 on his way to 17 points and five steals.

Monticello's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Olathe, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Monticello wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 76-56 defeat against Grand County on the 9th. As for Olathe, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-57 victory against Caprock Academy on the 10th.
