Softball Recap: Central Springs Comes Up Short

Central Springs lost to Newman Catholic back in July of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Panthers lost 8-1 to the Knights. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Central Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Newman Catholic, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Looking ahead, Central Springs will be playing at home against Eagle Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Newman Catholic, they are taking a road trip to take on St. Ansgar at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Saints have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.42 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
