Basketball Recap: Caitlin Sandridge's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Downers Grove North over Lincoln-Way West

After flying high against Proviso West last Tuesday, Downers Grove North came back down to earth. The Downers Grove North Trojans fell to the Lincoln-Way West Warriors 37-33. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Downers Grove North lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Caitlin Sandridge, who posted ten points. The dominant performance also gave Sandridge a new career-high in field goal percentage (75%). Adysen Fanta was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Downers Grove North's defeat dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Lincoln-Way West, their victory bumped their record up to 20-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Downers Grove North will head out to challenge Leyden at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincoln-Way West, they will head out on the road to square off against Homewood-Flossmoor at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
