If Saint James beats Fort Hill with five runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Saints never let Winters Mill get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory on Wednesday. The win was nothing new for the Saints as they're now sitting on three straight.

Not much got past Lily Schlotterbeck ?26, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep Winters Mill off the board. Schlotterbeck ?26 has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Saint James let Carli Mazaleski ?25 and Tenley Mullendore ?27 run wild. Mazaleski ?25 went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Mullendore ?27 went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits Mazaleski ?25 has posted since back in March.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous four contest, Fort Hill brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over Smithsburg on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Sentinels as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Haley Metz made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. Metz was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Brynnan Wigger was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Summer Welsh, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Fort Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Saint James pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.6 runs over those games. As for Fort Hill, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-11.
Fort Hill's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Saint James has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .461. It's a different story for Fort Hill, though, as they've only averaged .336. Will they be able to contain Saint James' hitters?
