Basketball Game Preview: Apple Springs Eagles vs. Centerville Bulldogs

Apple Springs and Centerville are an even 3-3 against one another since November of 2014, but not for long. The Apple Springs Eagles will face off against the Centerville Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Apple Springs is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Apple Springs is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Wells on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Apple Springs lost 49-24 to Wells. The Eagles were down 37-15 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Lauren Lankford put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted seven points and 18 boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds.

Meanwhile, Centerville took a blow against Zavalla on Tuesday, falling 71-15. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Apple Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 1-23. As for Centerville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-15.

Apple Springs came up short against Centerville in their previous matchup on January 7th, falling 31-18. Can Apple Springs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
