Basketball Recap: Holbrook Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

If Payson wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Holbrook, they should've done a better job of containing Tyler Tapaha. The Holbrook Roadrunners enjoyed a cozy 45-27 win over the Payson Longhorns on Friday thanks to Tapaha, who went 8-for-13 en route to 18 points in addition to seven steals and six rebounds. The matchup was his third in a row with at least 15 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Leyton Tom, who posted two points and four steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Payson still got an impressive performance from Aldan Parsons, who earned nine points and eight boards.

Holbrook is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. As for Payson, they dropped their record down to 9-18 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Holbrook wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-44 loss against Coolidge on the 18th. Payson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
