Basketball Recap: Messiah Mckinley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Brandon over Spoto

Brandon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They took a 60-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spoto Spartans. The Eagles lost against the Spartans in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 71-34 score last time.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Messiah McKinley, who posted 18 points. Charlie Pyron was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Brandon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Spoto, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-6.

Brandon is taking a road trip to square off against Riverview at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Spoto, they will challenge Bloomingdale at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
