Basketball Recap: Shannon Payne's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cuyahoga Falls over Revere

Cuyahoga Falls lost against Revere back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cuyahoga Falls Black Tigers fell to the Revere Minutemen 64-60. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (58), the Black Tigers still had to take the loss.

Cuyahoga Falls' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shannon Payne, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Payne is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games he's played. Hayden Johnson was another key player, going 6 of 12 to rack up 13 points and four steals.

Cuyahoga Falls' defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Revere, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cuyahoga Falls will take on Aurora at 7:30 p.m. on February 14th. As for Revere, they will challenge Tallmadge at 7:30 p.m. on February 14th.
