Football Recap: South View Beats E.E. Smith for Their Third Straight Win

South View had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the E.E. Smith Golden Bulls as they made off with a 49-28 win. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Tigers had established a 20-point advantage.

South View got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cristian Simmons out in front who rushed for 214 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Those 214 rushing yards gave Simmons a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahmad Carmichael, who gained 140 total yards and two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: South View was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 355 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 150 rushing yards in five consecutive contests.

South View now has a winning record of 4-3. As for E.E. Smith, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

South View didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 54-8 win against Douglas Byrd on the 18th. As for E.E. Smith, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Seventy-First on the 14th.
