Basketball Recap: Hampton Gets the Win

Hampton posted their closest win since November 25, 2024 on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Jackson Red Devils, sneaking past 39-37.

Despite the loss, Jackson still got an impressive performance from Sophie Logan, who posted nine points in addition to seven rebounds and seven steals. That's the most steals Logan has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariyah Burke, who put up nine points along with six boards and three steals.

Hampton's victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Jackson, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 18 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.

Hampton will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ola at 6:00 p.m. Hampton is facing Ola at the right time seeing as Ola is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Jackson, they will venture away from home to take on Westside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season.
