Basketball Recap: West Jefferson Takes a Loss

After flying high against Cole Valley Christian last Saturday, West Jefferson came back down to earth. The West Jefferson Panthers fell just short of the Butte County Pirates by a score of 59-56 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Panthers have suffered since January 20th.

West Jefferson dropped their record down to 3-5 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Butte County, they moved to 6-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the West Jefferson Panthers face off against the Soda Springs Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Butte County, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Teton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Teton will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Butte County surely won't give up without a fight.
