Basketball Recap: Germantown Comes Up Short

Germantown lost against Starkville two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Germantown Mavericks lost 56-34 to the Starkville Yellowjackets. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked sixth).

Despite the loss, Germantown still got an impressive performance from Julia Glasgow, who shot 6-for-9 from long range and dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds. That's the most points Glasgow has posted since back in November of 2024.

Germantown's defeat dropped their record down to 15-13. As for Starkville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.
