Soccer Game Preview: Mecklenburg County vs. Bassett

The Mecklenburg County Phoenix are taking a road trip to take on the Bassett Bengals at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mecklenburg County's last six contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Mecklenburg County's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over Halifax County.

Meanwhile, Bassett beat Martinsville 3-1 on Tuesday. Bassett haven't had any issues with Martinsville recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Bassett now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Mecklenburg County, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6-5.
