Philip Simmons has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Goose Creek, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-14.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Gators beat Philip Simmons by a score of 13-0 later that day.
