Recap: Ashford Yellowjackets vs. New Brockton Gamecocks
The Ashford Yellowjackets were the 42-13 winner over the New Brockton Gamecocks when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Ashford took a 30-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of New Brockton.
Several Yellowjackets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Braylon Bigham, who rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown. Bigham was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. Another player making a difference was Tylan Peterman, who picked up 36 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Ashford's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for New Brockton, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.
Ashford will head out on the road to face off against Northside Methodist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northside Methodist Academy is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for New Brockton, they will be playing at home against Headland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Headland presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than New Brockton in Alabama (Headland is ranked 100th, while New Brockton is ranked 273rd).
