Penfield faced Victor in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Patriots had just enough and edged out the Blue Devils 3-2. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Victor's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Vanessa Phan, who had eight digs and two aces.

Penfield's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Victor, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Penfield is set to challenge their familiar foe Hilton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Victor will face off against rival Fairport at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
