Basketball Game Preview: Pekin Panthers vs. Fairfield Trojans

The Pekin Panthers will square off against the Fairfield Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Pekin took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 52-44 win over WACO.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fairfield). They came out on top against Mt. Pleasant by a score of 71-62 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Fairfield and bumps their season record up to 3-6. As for Pekin, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.

Pekin beat Fairfield 63-51 in their previous matchup back in February of 2020. Will Pekin repeat their success, or does Fairfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
