Vanguard entered their tilt with Williston on Thursday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They came out on top against the Red Devils by a score of 7-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-5 back in February.

Vanguard let Bobby Blanco and Gavin Aiton run wild. Blanco scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Aiton scored a run and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Blanco a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Noah Robinson, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Vanguard kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.

Vanguard's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Williston, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vanguard will host Forest at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Vanguard's pitchers better be ready for this one: Forest has averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Williston, they will welcome Chiefland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
