Softball Recap: Fairfield Comes Up Short

Fairfield came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Eastside Blazers, falling 16-6. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Blazers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Preslee Caouette was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Jenna Fought, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Fairfield's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Eastside, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairfield will take on Leo at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Eastside, they will face off against Lakeland at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Blazers' favor as the squad sits on 11 straight wins at home while the Lakers have been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
