Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Dayton's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Dayton lost to Caney Creek back in November, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Dayton Broncos walked away with a 61-48 win over the Caney Creek Panthers. Given the Broncos' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 504th, while the Panthers are ranked 1068th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dayton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Caney Creek, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.

Dayton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 57-46 victory against Lee on the 28th. As for Caney Creek, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Caney Creek Panthers take on the Conroe Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Caney Creek has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
