Basketball Game Preview: Bertha-Hewitt Bears vs. Sebeka Trojans

Bertha-Hewitt and Sebeka are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Bertha-Hewitt Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sebeka Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Bertha-Hewitt came up short against Wadena-Deer Creek on Tuesday, falling 60-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bears have suffered against the Wolverines since December 14, 2021.

Meanwhile, Sebeka played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Henning and fell 90-39. The game marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Bertha-Hewitt will need focus on slowing down Kaison Campbell, one of several Sebeka players who made an impact when they last played. He posted eight points. The dominant performance gave Campbell a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenyatta Bell, who had seven points.

This is the second loss in a row for Sebeka and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for Bertha-Hewitt, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Bertha-Hewitt came up short against Sebeka in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 66-58. Can Bertha-Hewitt avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
