Football Game Preview: MacArthur Cardinals vs. Dallas Jesuit Rangers

MacArthur hasn't had much luck against Dallas Jesuit recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Cardinals will host the Rangers at 7:00 p.m. MacArthur has given up an average of 27 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Thursday, MacArthur ended up a good deal behind Berkner and lost 36-17. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 566th, while the Rams are ranked 210th).

Meanwhile, Dallas Jesuit played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 52-21 loss at the hands of Lake Highlands. The Rangers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-21.

MacArthur will have to contain Beck Berry as he made an impact in Dallas Jesuit's last game. He threw for 197 yards and two TDs, and also punched in one rushing score. Shane Parker was another key player, picking up 82 receiving yards and one score.

Dallas Jesuit's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-4. As for MacArthur, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-4.

MacArthur lost to Dallas Jesuit at home by a decisive 41-27 margin when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Cardinals, Charlie Peters (who threw for 225 yards and six touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes, and also rushed for 38 yards) won't be suiting up this time.
