Softball Recap: Jimtown Jimmies vs. LaVille Lancers

After only one run in their last contest, Jimtown made sure to put some runs up on the board against LaVille on Thursday. The Jimmies put the hurt on the Lancers with a sharp 27-0 victory. The Jimmies haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Layla Winrott made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Jimtown got a massive performance out of Lilly Gaugler, who got on base in five of her seven plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs Gaugler has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Williams, who went 3-for-6 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Jimtown hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as LaVille struck out 11 times.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-4. As for LaVille, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Jimtown has already played their next matchup, an 11-10 win against Fairfield on the 18th. As for LaVille, they will square off against Argos at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
