Volleyball Recap: Morrill Beats Kimball for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Morrill had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Kimball Longhorns. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Morrill easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-10.

Katelyn Walker paced Morrill's offense, picking up seven kills. Walker also shared the team's lead in assists with Makayla Dykes: they picked up eight each. Walker was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Despite the loss, Kimball still got an impressive performance from Hannah Kilgore, who had 17 digs and one assist. Kilgore is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Morrill's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Kimball, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-5.

Morrill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Hemingford on the 20th. As for Kimball, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Bridgeport on the 20th.
