Baseball Game Preview: Kirbyville Wildcats vs. Kountze Lions

For the first time this season, Kirbyville will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats challenge the Lions at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Kirbyville's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They blew past Colmesneil 18-0. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Ryan Coleman looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Braxton Jacks was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Kaden Cloud was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Kountze got the win against Trinity on Saturday by a conclusive 18-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.
