Volleyball Recap: Douglas County Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Rangeview last Thursday, Douglas County came back down to earth. The Huskies took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cherokee Trail Cougars on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Huskies in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost nine in a row.

While Douglas County ultimately came up short, they really made Cherokee Trail work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 26-24, 19-25, 25-14.

Reese Millar paced Douglas County's offense, picking up 17 kills. Millar got some help from Ady Millar and her 30 assists. Ady also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Brynne Jacobs, racking up four apiece.

Alize Flores went supernova For Cherokee Trail., getting 16 digs and two aces. Flores has been hot, having posted 14 or more digs the last six times she's played.

Douglas County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Cherokee Trail, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Douglas County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Denver East on the 27th. As for Cherokee Trail, they will face off against Rock Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on September 4.
