Volleyball Recap: Morrill Lions vs. Cross County Cougars

It was a proper cat-fight when Morrill duked it out with Cross County on Saturday. The Lions fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-2. While the Lions didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cougars 25-18 in the first set.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Cross County scored at least 14 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-18, 25-22, 20-25, 16-14.

Morrill's offense was headlined by Mersaydez Carrizales and Katelyn Walker, who picked up 19 kills apiece. They got some help from Makayla Dykes and her 23 assists. Madisyn Carrizales controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.
