Vandegrift won the last time they faced Stony Point and things went their way on Friday too. The Vandegrift Vipers' defense stepped up to hand the Stony Point Tigers a 4-0 shutout. Given the Vipers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Tigers are ranked 260th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Vandegrift has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those six contests. As for Stony Point, they dropped their record down to 5-8 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coincidentally, Vandegrift and Stony Point will both be playing Vista Ridge the next time they take the pitch. Stony Point will host Vista Ridge at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Vandegrift will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on February 21st.
