Baseball Recap: Collegium Charter Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Collegium Charter, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over the Jenkintown Drakes on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Cougar, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Collegium Charter got a massive performance out of Landon Gustafson, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Gustafson is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games he's played dating back to last season. Fabian Zorilla was another key player, scoring four runs while going 2-for-4.

The victory got Collegium Charter back to even at 1-1. As for Jenkintown, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Coming up, Collegium Charter will face off against Lower Moreland at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Jenkintown, they will challenge MAST Community Charter at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. MAST Community Charter has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed eight runs per game on average), something Jenkintown will no doubt try to take advantage of.
