Baseball Game Preview: North Creek Jaguars vs. Eastlake Wolves

The North Creek Jaguars will head out on the road to challenge the Eastlake Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (North Creek 3.4, Eastlake 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for North Creek's offense. They fell 3-0 to Juanita on Wednesday. The match marked the first time this season in which the Jaguars were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Eastlake didn't have quite enough to beat Newport - Bellevue on Wednesday and fell 3-2. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Eastlake got a good showing from Colin Chapman, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Chapman has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Eastlake saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thomas Wood, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

The defeat snapped North Creek's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-4 record. As for Eastlake, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. North Creek has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Eastlake struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

North Creek was able to grind out a solid win over Eastlake in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 6-1. Will the Jaguars repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
