Football Recap: Mark Reed and CJ Brown Pace Tempe Defense

Tempe lost against Greenway back in October of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Buffaloes took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Demons. The Buffaloes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Tempe still got an impressive performance from Mark Jackson, who picked up 172 receiving yards and one touchdown. Jackson was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 66 yards.

Tempe didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mark Reed and CJ Brown.

It was another big night for Corey Guerrero, who rushed for 122 yards for Greenway. Guerrero's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 113 rushing yards.

Tempe's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Greenway, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Coming up, Tempe will be playing at home against Moon Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Buffaloes will be up against the Rockets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Greenway, they will square off against Glendale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Demons will be up against the Cardinals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
