Red Oak has gone a perfect 3-0 against Cleburne recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Hawks will take on the Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. Red Oak will be strutting in after a victory while Cleburne will be coming in after a defeat.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Red Oak challenged Joshua on Friday. The Hawks had just enough and edged out the Owls 10-7. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Owls are ranked 313th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Billy Middleton, who rushed for 103 yards, and also threw for 111 yards on 16 of 24 attempts.

Meanwhile, Cleburne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 66-30 defeat at the hands of Tyler. The Yellowjackets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-18.

Red Oak will need to focus on slowing down CJ Kensley, one of several Cleburne players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 117 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Desmond Taylor, who rushed for 71 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries.

Cleburne's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Red Oak, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Everything came up roses for Red Oak against Cleburne in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 72-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
