Softball Recap: Genesee Has No Trouble Against Clearwater Valley

Genesee barely beat Clearwater Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Genesee put the hurt on Clearwater Valley with a sharp 8-1 win on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won five in a row.

Kendra Meyer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

Meyer wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alia Wareham, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Wareham has posted since back in April of 2024. Another was Kaylee Krick, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Genesee's record is now 3-0. As for Clearwater Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Genesee beat Clearwater Valley by a score of 17-5 later that day.
