Baseball Recap: Norco Wins Going Away Against King

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Centennial, Norco was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the King Wolves with a sharp 9-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won four in a row.

Norco got a great performance from Landon Hovermale as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Wyatt Fiedler and Marcus Blanton did most of the damage at the plate: Fiedler scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Blanton scored a run while going 1-for-3. Those two runs gave Fiedler a new career-high.

Norco's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for King, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Norco will have a chance to go back-to-back against King: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
