Basketball Game Preview: Auburn Mountainview Lions vs. White River Hornets

The Auburn Mountainview Lions will square off against the White River Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

White River is hoping to do what Kentlake couldn't on Monday: put an end to Auburn Mountainview's winning streak, which now stands at 12 games. Auburn Mountainview blew past Kentlake 96-69. The Lions' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Kolven Posey was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 14 from beyond the arc on his way to 35 points in addition to seven assists and five boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Beckett Jones, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Auburn Mountainview smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, White River got the win against Enumclaw on Tuesday by a conclusive 88-66. The win made it back-to-back victories for White River.

White River's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Auburn Mountainview, their win bumped their record up to 12-0.
