Recap: Villa Grove Blue Devils vs. Heritage Hawks
Even though the Heritage Hawks scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, the Villa Grove Blue Devils still came out on top. Villa Grove took their matchup against Heritage 67-55. That's another feather in the cap for Villa Grove, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the defeat, Heritage saw an underclassman step up: Rylan White dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. White scored a full 34.5% of Heritage's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Bensyl, who scored ten points.
Villa Grove's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Heritage, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Villa Grove will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Judah Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Judah Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Heritage will finish 2023 at home by hosting Armstrong at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Armstrong will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
