Tri-Valley is a perfect 10-0 against Marian Catholic since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will challenge Marian Catholic at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Tri-Valley came out on top against Nativity BVM on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive 11-run first inning. The Bulldogs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Green Wave a 15-0 shutout. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Alina Leonard made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

Meanwhile, Marian Catholic came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the Blue Devils. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Marian Catholic let Gracie Sendatch and Zoe Katona run wild. Sendatch went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Katona went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Treskolasky, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Marian Catholic's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-9. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Tri-Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Tri-Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .396. However, it's not like Marian Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .403. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Tri-Valley's way against Marian Catholic in their previous meeting on May 8th, as Tri-Valley made off with an 11-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
