Volleyball Recap: Washington Wins High-Profile Match Against Stevens

Washington faced Stevens in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Raiders. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-13, 25-21.

Washington was led to victory by Emily Akkerman and Ivy Freesemann. Akkerman had five digs and three aces, while Freesemann had 14 digs. Akkerman has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 14 times she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Washington was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October.

Washington's win bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Stevens, their loss dropped their record down to 26-10.
