Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carle Place). They walked away with a 12-8 win over the Cold Spring Harbor Seahawks on Thursday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Patrick McCarthy made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was even better at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Philip Bunt, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Tucholski, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Carle Place's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Cold Spring Harbor, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
