Basketball Recap: Zion Bellamy Key Part of a Team Effort in Wildkats Win

On Thursday, the Kokomo Wildkats didn't have too much trouble with the Culver Academies Eagles as they won 74-60. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildkats.

Kokomo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zion Bellamy, who went 5 of 9 en route to 21 points along with six assists and five rebounds. That's the most boards Bellamy has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Baris Moore, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 17 points in addition to three steals and three blocks.

Kokomo is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Culver Academies, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.

Kokomo has already played their next contest (against Richmond), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Culver Academies Eagles duke it out with the Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Guerin Catholic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.9 points per game this season.
