The South Dade Buccaneers will face off against TERRA Environmental at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. South Dade is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
South Dade came into this matchup off a tough 11-run defeat on Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Ferguson by a score of 13-11 on Tuesday.
South Dade got a big performance out of Janaya Lopez, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Jazelyn Bermudez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Palmetto hit TERRA Environmental with a ten-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. TERRA Environmental lost 15-5 to Palmetto.
Makayla Sosa and Bella Ojeda did some serious damage despite the final result: Sosa went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI, while Ojeda went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Ojeda has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 11 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aryana Hussain, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
TERRA Environmental's loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for South Dade, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. South Dade hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .391. However, it's not like TERRA Environmental struggles in that department as they've averaged .442. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went South Dade's way against TERRA Environmental in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, as South Dade made off with a 16-1 victory. Will the Buccaneers repeat their success, or do TERRA Environmental have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
