North Side extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 8-12 in the process. They came up short against the Joshua Owls, falling 19-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Owls this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on Thursday.
As for Joshua, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-11. Considering they have won 12 games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
For Joshua's part, Isabella Lambert made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Lambert was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Joshua got a massive performance out of Molly Young, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Young a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Leilanie Sam, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
While North Side had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
