Football Game Preview: Coconino Panthers vs. Mingus Marauders

The Coconino Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Mingus Marauders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Things were looking good for Coconino after they put the first points on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Sunrise Mountain by a score of 27-24. The Panthers were up 14-0 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Meanwhile, Mingus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 48-0 defeat at the hands of Prescott.

Mingus' loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Coconino, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Coconino against Mingus in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 49-12 win. In that matchup, the Panthers amassed a halftime lead of 35-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
