Soccer Game Preview: West Potomac vs. Fairfax

The West Potomac Wolverines will face off against the Fairfax Lions at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (West Potomac has four straight wins, Fairfax has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

West Potomac will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on April 3rd, then bounced right back against Justice last Wednesday. The Wolverines came out on top against Wolves by a score of 4-2. The final result isn't all the surprising considering West Potomac's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Justice are ranked 193rd).

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Fairfax's offense. They lost 6-0 to McLean last Thursday.

Fairfax's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for West Potomac, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
