Recap: Woodland Wolves vs. Casa Roble Rams
The Woodland Wolves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 90-58 loss at the hands of Casa Roble. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (55), Woodland still had to take the loss.
Several Wolves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lincoln Twilley, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Twilley is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last nine games he's played. Dylan Ramirez was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Leading Casa Roble to victory were Travis Remly and Benny Ambriz. Remly dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Ambriz scored 27 points along with three steals. Ambriz is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 15 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Scott, who scored 14 points.
Woodland has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Casa Roble, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 17-5.
Woodland will stay at home for another game and welcome Mesa Verde at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Mesa Verde is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Casa Roble, they will head out on the road to face off against Rio Linda at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Rio Linda's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
